How is the European Research Area (ERA) making a difference to researchers, universities and research organisations across Europe? A new European Commission guide, developed with support from INSPIRING ERA, explores the progress made so far and what lies ahead.
ERA in Practice – A Guide for the R&I Community brings together the achievements of the ERA Policy Agenda 2022–2024 and the priorities and planned activities for 2025–2027, helping research and innovation stakeholders understand how European policies translate into practical action.
Covering topics such as open science, research careers, knowledge valorisation, citizen engagement and research management, the guide:
- Highlights key achievements and upcoming developments across different ERA policy areas.
- Showcases relevant Horizon Europe projects and future funding opportunities.
- Explains what ERA developments mean in practice for researchers, institutional leaders and research managers.
Prepared by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation with support from INSPIRING ERA, the publication contributes to the project’s aim of making ERA developments more accessible, relevant and useful to the research and innovation community.
