Knowledge Valorisation
Knowledge valorisation is the process of transforming research results, data, and know-how into social and economic value. It links academia, industry, policymakers, and citizens to deliver sustainable products, services, solutions, and knowledge-based policies that benefit society.
In the ERA Policy Agenda (2025–2027), knowledge valorisation is addressed as a structural policy with the aim of upscaling capacities, strengthening long-term commitment, and deepening Europe’s knowledge valorisation ecosystem.
In the ERA Policy Agenda (2022–2024), knowledge valorisation was supported through Action 7: Upgrade EU guidance for a better knowledge valorisation. This action aimed to establish a common European approach by developing the EU Guiding Principles for Knowledge Valorisation and a set of Codes of Practice covering intellectual assets.
