Join IMPAC3T-IP on 7 October from 09:30 – 15:00 CEST at the Press Club in Brussels for its conference: Licensing for use and impact: Connecting policy with practice, a high-level event bringing together policymakers, knowledge and technology transfer professionals, researchers and licensing experts. Discussions will examine how broader forms of impact can be recognised, how effective tools and approaches can be scaled, and what skills and policy support professionals need to translate research results into practical use.
Panels will explore how licensing practices can respond to today’s increasingly complex innovation landscape, with topics organised along four key themes:
- What do we value in licensing? – how evaluation and funding frameworks could evolve to recognise licensing that generates societal, not only economic, impact.
- From tools to practice and the need to scale effective licensing approaches – existing tools, templates and platforms, and what is needed to scale them across institutions.
- Equipping professionals for new licensing realities – closing the skills gap in knowledge and technology transfer for increasingly complex licensing scenarios.
- Licensing in complex scenarios: from policy ambition to implementation – applying licensing strategies in co-creation, crisis response or non-traditional IP contexts,
Participants will have opportunities for dialogue and networking throughout the day.
